Laborer – Public Works Department
The City of Cochran is seeking a skilled laborer to
join our Public Works team. The skilled laborer will operate a Zero-Turn or
other mower in City rights-of-way as well as the Cedar Hill Cemetery. This
position also involves operating vehicles, tractors, chain saws, cutters, weed
eaters, and pruning saws. A strong work ethic, and attention to detail and
safety are essential.
Position is part-time averaging 28 hours per week.
Position is supervised by the Public Works Department Street Supervisor.

Maintenance Technician - Public Works Department (Full-Time)
The City of Cochran is seeking a skilled maintenance
technician to join our Public Works team. The maintenance technician will
operate a Zero-Turn or other mower in City rights-of-way. This position also
involves operating equipment, vehicles, tractors, chain saws, cutters and
pruning saws. This position will also assist in maintaining the storm and sewer
system as needed. A strong work ethic, and attention to detail and safety are
essential and assisting with the maintenance.
This position is full-time 40 hours a week, working on
call weeks on a rotation schedule. This position is supervised by the Public
Works Department Street Supervisor.

Certified Police Officer – Patrol Division (Part-Time)
Under general supervision the applicant is expected to perform field duties relating to response to emergencies, general and directed patrol, investigation of crimes and other incidents, traffic enforcement and control, assisting in crime prevention activities, and other law enforcement services and duties as required. A significant degree of initiative, independent judgment, and discretion is required of incumbents to develop, maintain, and successfully perform tasks in a community oriented, problem solving approach to policing.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent. Associates Degree or higher is preferred.
- Minimum 21 years of age.
- No Felony convictions and no serious misdemeanor convictions.
- Must be a citizen of the United States.
- Must meet/pass background requirements.
- Must pass a fit for duty physical and drug screen.
- POST certification must be "Current and In Good Standing"
Salary $16.38/Hr
