Public Works Laborer - Part Time

The City of Cochran is seeking a skilled laborer to join our Public Works team. The skilled laborer will operate a Zero-Turn or other mower in City rights-of-ways, public building, and the City cemetery. This position also involves operating vehicles, tractors, chain saws, cutters and pruning saws. A strong work ethic, and attention to detail and safety are essential.
Position is part-time averaging 28 hours per week. Position is supervised by the Public Works Department Street Supervisor.

Downtown Development Director - Part Time

The City of Cochran is soliciting applications for the Part-Time position of Downtown Development Director. This is a responsible professional position involving the active promotion of Downtown Cochran. This position involves working closely with the seven-member Downtown Development Authority, City of Cochran officials and local and state economic development representatives. Cemetery Technician - Public Works Department

The City of Cochran is seeking a cemetery technician. This job requires working at the Cedar Hill Cemetery and working closely with funeral home directors and citizens on cemetery plots locations, cemetery lot availability, sales and deed completion of cemetery lots, implementing digital software of the mapping inventory, maintaining the inventory of cemetery plots, locating vacant lots, cross training with City Hall staff, updating the rules and regulations of the day-to-day operations and appearance, and working with various organizations and departments in the City.

Water Technician- Fulltime – Public Works Department

The City of Cochran is seeking a water technician to join our Public Works team. This position is responsible for assisting in the maintenance, upkeep, and repair of the City’s water system and carrying out the City’s meter reading function performing utility locating function and overseeing plant operations as needed.
This position is a fulltime 40 per week and is in a after hour on call rotation. Position is supervised by the Public Works Department Water Supervisor.

Full-Time Maintenance Technician – Public Works Department

The City of Cochran is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to join our Public Works team. The maintenance technician will operate a Zero-Turn or other mower in City rights-of-way. This position also involves operating equipment, vehicles, tractors, chain saws, cutters and pruning saws. This position will also assist in maintaining the storm and sewer system as needed. A strong work ethic, and attention to detail and safety are essential and assisting with the maintenance.

This position is full-time 40 hours a week, working on call weeks on a rotation schedule. This position is supervised by the Public Works Department Street Supervisor.
