Sergeant/Supervisor position with the City of Cochran Fire and Emergency
Services. Work involves combating, extinguishing,
and preventing fires; providing emergency medical care to the sick and injured;
maintaining and operating equipment and apparatus; supervising other full time
and part time firefighters; organizing and delivering training to firefighters;
other duties assigned.
include: Minimum of four (4) years’ experience as a Certified State of Georgia firefighter; minimum of three (3) years employed as a career firefighter; physical fitness assessment deemed appropriate by the Fire Chief and/or the Cochran Fire Department’s physical fitness test; must possess a valid Georgia driver's license Class F and a satisfactory motor vehicle record (MVR); pass employment physical and drug screen; acceptable criminal history; certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR); hazmat operations required, equivalent combination of education and experience.
Emergency Medical Responder required; Fire Instructor I preferred.
Water Technician- Fulltime – Public Works Department
The City of Cochran is seeking a water technician to join our Public Works team. This position is responsible for assisting in the maintenance, upkeep, and repair of the City’s water system and carrying out the City’s meter reading function performing utility locating function and overseeing plant operations as needed.
This position is a fulltime 40 per week and is in a after hour on call rotation. Position is supervised by the Public Works Department Water Supervisor.

Full-Time Maintenance Technician – Public Works Department
The City of Cochran is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to join our Public Works team. The maintenance technician will operate a Zero-Turn or other mower in City rights-of-way. This position also involves operating equipment, vehicles, tractors, chain saws, cutters and pruning saws. This position will also assist in maintaining the storm and sewer system as needed. A strong work ethic, and attention to detail and safety are essential and assisting with the maintenance.
This position is full-time 40 hours a week, working on call weeks on a rotation schedule. This position is supervised by the Public Works Department Street Supervisor.
