The City of Cochran Zoning Committee Meeting

The City of Cochran Zoning Committee will hold a meeting on Thursday, May 7, 2020 at 6:30 p.m. at the City Auditorium located at 102 North Second Street.

The Governor of the State of Georgia declared a Public Health State of Emergency on March 14, 2020, in which local officials were urged to act in the best interests of the city to safeguard and promote the health and safety of the City of Cochran. A city council meeting will be held at the City Auditorium at 7pm on Thursday, April 30, 2020. The Governor has stated a meeting cannot be held with more than ten people and for this reason the public cannot attend.

Declaration of State of Emergency and Curfew in the City of Cochran, Georgia.

The City of Cochran is working to ensure the health and safety of our citizens, visitors and employees as COVID-19 continues to spread across Georgia.

Due to the coronavirus emergency, access to City Hall and the City Police Department shall be restricted to “employees only” effective Tuesday, March 24, 2020 until further notice. Doors to City Hall and the Police Department Lobby will be locked and appropriate payment/service information posted on the door. Citizens are encouraged to work with City staff regarding ongoing issues via telephone and email.

As you may be aware, late last night (March 2) Governor Brian Kemp and Dr. Kathleen Toomey, commissioner of the Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) and chair of the governor’s COVID-19 task force, confirmed two cases of the virus in Fulton County.

The City of Cochran is soliciting competitive bids for excavation of debris from the entire ditch between E Peacock Street and E Lewis Street. This includes hauling of the debris from the ditch site as well.
